WCW goes South-Africa

We are proud to let you know Wild Cats World is going to cooperate with Felidae Centre (Chriszanne and Nicol Burger) and with them we are going to start at a 1500 ha piece of land in South Africa, near Kimberley and Bloemfontein, Northern Cape. We already have a cheetah and caracal as ambassadors for their species in our education shows, and soon 5 lion cubs will arrive for the wildpark. A big step forward for Wild Cats World. We will soon give more information on our plans.

Happy new year

We like to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2011 and also a good year for all wild cats. 2010 was the year of the tiger, now let's make 2011 the year of all wild cats, big and small, with great progress for Wild Cats World. The whole set up will of course take some time, years even, but the signs are very good. Eva is lobbying with lots of important people in Paris and Babette is focusing on the making of a great teaser and promo film, which will be produced by Laura Turner. Babette's friend, the respectable BBC camera men Gavin Thurston, is so very kind to help out and ask his well-known acquantainces, like Sir David Attenborough and Jonathan Scott, to do the voice-over for this video, which would be brilliant and a big step forward for our foundation of course. We will keep you up-dated!

The second week of January Eva and Babette had a meeting in Paris talking about the foundation. It was mainly necessary to have the noses pointed in the same direction again. The focus will still be South Africa, obtaining some land there with facilities, helping both the local people and the surrounding wildlife (wild cats in particular). Some ambassadors of the cats living in the wild will be kept for educational reasons, like a cheetah. It will all take some years to realize, as also both Babette and Eva are very busy with other work/projects, but watch this space for new info!

November 2010___________________________________________________________

Wild Cats World is looking for a suitable place in South Africa now to start up the foundation. Offers in India, Holland and France are also still under consideration. We want to leave all options open.

Foundation Wild Cats World has a bankaccount (no. 51.72.47.135 ABN AMRO Bank, Bussum/NL; IBAN NL22ABNA0517247135, BIC ABNANL2A) accurately monitored by a lawyer: Mr. Caspar de Valk. All donations go directly to the project and the endangered wild cats in captivity and in the wild.

A big thank you goes to Bikkel Dienstverlening, Hoogeveen (NL.) for their gift to our foundation.

WCW is preparing a special campaign to start collecting donations for the wild cats. Tigress Carla will be the representative for our foundation and the Bengal tigers in the wild. Watch this space for more info.

Sunworld Safaris in Nairobi/Kenya start their sponsorship for our foundation officially as from January 1st.

WCW is working on a special teaser/promo film for tv stations. Ant Farm Films (Laura Turner), UK is helping us and as we worked together twice before, during the Wild Cats Photosafaris to Kenya, we can be certain Laura is making a great film to promote our foundation.

October 2010___________________________________________________________

This month Babette and Eva are finalizing preparations and are going to make the foundation official. They discussed a slight change in the aim of the foundation and it will be like this:
Wild Cats World: looking after the well-being of endangered species in captivity and conservation of endangered wild felines in the wild, as a (temporary) center taking care of these wild cats who have e.g. become redundant or not properly treated in zoos, circuses and private homes, giving these animals a life as natural as possible and socializing them to avoid any stress. A large-scale education and conservation program and breeding with some species with only one goal: to obtain pure genetic material and to eventually release the animals into the wild. Furthermore, everything to do with this directly or indirectly, all in the broadest sense of the word. Also: Having found a lawyer representing the funds (and reliability) of WCW: Mr. Caspar de Valk and talking with/writing to possible sponsors of the project. Lots of administration (paper work) needs to be done before the final start, like tax papers, legal documents etc. We are going the right way with our foundation. We'll keep you informed!

Still searching...

WCW is still searching for the best options as where to start the project. Montaud in the South of France has been put on hold for the coming time as a new great offer came Babette and Eva's way... nearer home, in the Netherlands. Cannot tell any details yet but we keep you informed on this website.
